Labour costs and their components in 2020: characteristics and dynamics in Italy and in euro area countries
Abstract
This article presents information on the structure of labour costs in the Euro area, focusing in particular on the situation in Italy. The analysis is based on data from the four-yearly Labour Cost Survey (LCS) with reference to the year 2020 considering both the level of the costs and their structure per unit of labour input (employees and hours worked). Labour costs indicators support governments and social partners in defining social policies and in promoting the competitiveness of enterprises. These indicators must enable comparisons across countries.
