Smart Working and Sustainability in Italian Public Administrations

Abstract

Smart Working is a new way of carrying out work performance and is a new way of acting the work performance in which the concepts of flexibility and autonomy are fundamental. The analysis of the main rules on Smart Working highlights the differences with teleworking. With the adoption of the rules governing the health emergency and the post-emergency, agile work is becoming as a way of ordinary work. This document will analyze the benefits and risks associated with Smart Working, with a focus on the exploratory survey conducted in Istat at the start of the experimental phase of smart working. These results will be compared with the national survey on SW and teleworking in the public sector carried out by ENEA.
