Methods of estimation of children participation in distance learning during the Covid-19 pandemic

Abstract

The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has led to the implementation of measures to contain the outbreak of the virus. From 4 March 2020. Following the government’s decision to close schools and educational institutions, the right to instruction has thus been guaranteed remotely, via video or audio connections and/or assignment of tasks. The existing digital divide in our country has represented the most critical aspect of the distance learning (Dad). This study aims at developing a methodology to estimate the number of students who have been be able to access remote education. To this end, we use microdata from the latest edition of the Italian survey on the use of ICT by Household and individuals (year 2019).
